  • Andrew Flintoff (55* & 4-14) became only the fourth Englishman to perform the allround feat of scoring a fifty and capturing four wickets in a match after Ian Botham (53 & 4-31 v Australia at Sydney,1991-92), Graeme Hick (80 & 5-33 v Zimbabwe at Harare in 1999-00) and Ronnie Irani (53 & 5-26 v India at the Oval in 2002).
  • Flintoff also became only the second allrounder to score a fifty and take four wickets in a match against Bangladesh. The only other to do so is Kenya’s Maurice Odumbe who scored 52* besides capturing 4-38 at Johannesburg early this year.
  • Flintoff’s figures of 4-14 were the joint third most economical by an Englishman capturing four wickets in a match.Chris Old had returned the figures of 4 for 8 against Canada at Manchester on 14-06-1979, while John Snow and Bob Willis had the identical figures of 4 for 18 against East Africa and Canada at Birmingham and Manchester on 14-06-1975 and 14-06-1979 respectively.
  • Manjural Islam Rana captured a wicket in his first over in ODIs when he had Michael Vaughan stumped off his third ball.
  • Andrew Flintoff won his seventh Man of the match award in his 63rd match.
