LEATHAM, Gerald Arthur Buxton.
Amateur.
Born at Hemsworth Hall, Pontecraft, Yorkshire, 30th April 1851.
Died at Dinas, Padstow, Cornwall, 19th June 1932.
The son of W.H.Leatham, M.P., Hemsworth Hall, Pontefract, Yorkshire, he was educated at Uppingham School and left in December 1867 to go into business. He played in thirty-two first-class matches, twelve of them for Yorkshire. He was also a good golfer and captain of the Portmarnock Club. He was hon secretary and hon treasurer of the Bramham Moor Hunt. The Leathams were a banking family whose business was taken into the Barclays group.
At the time of the 1881 Census he was living alone at the Manor House, Thorp Arch, Yorkshire, aged 29, unmarried and a Land (house) Agent.
