Player:D Ramdin

DateLine: 3rd May 2009

A wicketkeeper-batsman of high quality, Ramdin took a while before proving his worth in the West Indian national side. But off late he has been none less than a headache for bowling attacks. Ramdin who was initially a fast bowler used to keep wickets only once he used to finish his spell. He left pace bowling to concentrate on his keeping skills. He was entrusted to lead both the Trinidad & Tobago's and West Indies' Under-19 sides at the age of 19 and all this at a time when he had just 13 First-Class games under his belt. Consistent good performances made sure he was selected as a first-choice wicketkeeper for the tour to the emerald isle in 2005. Ramdin has been good in patches when it comes to his performances with the willow, but he has been very impressive with his work behind the stumps.
