A hat-trick from the comeback man Farveez Maharoof flattened the Indian side in the dress rehearsal of the upcoming final. It was a clinical and ruthless performance from the hosts as they left India gasping and looking at various questions unanswered.

Farveez Maharoof grabbed 5-42, including a hat-trick. The right-arm seamer trapped Ravindra Jadeja leg-before, bowled Praveen Kumar and had Zaheer Khan caught behind off successive deliveries in his ninth over.
Dinesh Karthik who replaced Sehwag hit 40 off 43 balls after an opening stand of 58 with Gautam Gambhir. There was a mini-innings wobble as wickets fell at regular interval. Rohit Sharma (and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni retrieved the situation by adding 79 for the fifth wicket, before the Indian captain was run out.
Dhoni's dismissal triggered a collapse as India slipped from 189-4 to 189-8 in the space of four deliveries as Maharoof sliced through the lower order. India were all out with 7.3 overs still remaining from their allotted 50.
Sri Lanka in reply simply flew from the word go. The openers put the Indian bowlers to the sword as they got boundary after boundary with minimum effort. Dilshan was severe on Zaheer as he hit the left armer for four, four and six in his first over. The wicket of the right-hander gave India some respite but Upul Tharanga took over. Medium pacers Dinda and Praveen Kumar felt his fury while Zaheer tested him outside off before getting him to edge one away-going delivery. Sangakkara and Jayawardene scored patient fifties to see the hosts through with 12.3 overs to spare.LATEST SCORES
