The Pakistani side is facing another huge innings defeat as they crumbled under the sustained aggressive assault from the English bowlers. The batting collapsed twice in a single day and it is inevitable that nothing less than a huge innings defeat is around the corner.

England resuming the day at 346 for 7, Trott and Broad continued to pile misery on the Pakistani bowlers. The match got underway in bright sunshine and the Pakistani bowlers continued to toil hard. The pair extended the partnership to 331 in 95.4 overs before Ajmal trapped Broad leg before. Trott missed out on a double ton when he was caught behind as the English innings folded up for 446.

The Pakistani batsmen in reply never looked like to taking the attack to the English bowlers. The visiting batsmen looked demoralized as they played some of the most atrocious shots. Butt tried to counter attack but his efforts fell flat on the face as he had no answer to one from Swann. The off-spinner tore apart the middle and the lower order and he got valuable support from Finn who looked ordinary at the beginning of his spell.

The Pakistani side crashed to their third double digit score in the Test series as they were all-out for 74.

Strauss enforced follow on and it seemed that the match might be over toady itself. The openers disappeared in a flash thus opening the gate for a brittle middle order. Butt again tried to counterattack while Yousuf decided to bide his time in the middle. But the two were removed within a space of six deliveries before bad light and drizzle brought a frenetic day's play to close.
