DateLine: 7th April 2007
The ICC today confirmed the Technical Committee of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 approved Farhad Reza as the replacement player for Tapash Baishya in Bangladesh s squad for the tournament.

The confirmation was conveyed to the Bangladesh team management in an email sent on behalf of the tournament Technical Committee on Friday evening.
Farhad Reza replaces Tapash Baishya after medical reports were received indicating that Tapash suffered ligament damage to his right ankle during his sides defeat to Australia in Antigua last Saturday. The reports indicate the player will require six to eight weeks of rehabilitation before he regains full fitness.
Farhad Reza is the eighth replacement player to be called up for the tournament so far.
Australias Stuart Clark, who replaced Brett Lee (ankle), the Pakistan trio of Azhar Mahmood, Mohammad Sami and Yasir Arafat, who came in for Abdul Razzaq (knee), Shoaib Akhtar (hamstring and knee), Mohammed Asif (elbow), Chris Martin and Hamish Marshall of New Zealand, who stepped in for Daryl Tuffey (bicep) and Lou Vincent (wrist) and Englands Stuart Broad, called up in place of Jon Lewis (exceptional circumstances), are the other players to be called up by any of the 16 teams taking part following the announcements of the final squads of 15 players.
The process required for approving Farhad Reza was the same as that followed by Cricket Australia, the Pakistan Cricket Board, New Zealand Cricket and the England & Wales Cricket Board in the cases of the above players.
Applications were made in writing to the tournament Technical Committee for permission to replace the players and, in the case of those players ruled out through injury, those applications were supported by medical reports confirming the injuries and certifying that the players were not fit for the event.
The Technical Committee of the ICC Cricket World Cup consists of David Richardson (Chairman, ICC representative), Campbell Jamieson (IDI representative), former international captains Michael Atherton and Rameez Raja (both independent nominations), Chris Dehring (Managing Director and CEO of the ICC CWC 2007) and Michael Hall (ICC CWC 2007 Cricket Operations Director).
Bangladeshs next game is against South Africa on Saturday at Guyana National Stadium, Providence, another contest in the ongoing Super Eight stage of the ICC Cricket World Cup.LATEST SCORES
