Biography:He was a member of Ernest Shackleton's crew on the trip to the Antarctic region where they lost the Endurance boat and were stuck on the ice for many months. On his death at "The Cottage" Murtle his occupation was shown as Director of Fisheries Research. His Cremation was at Kaimhill Crematorium, Kaimhill Road, Aberdeen and his remains were scattered in the Gardens of Remembrance at Kaimhill.
