There was No play on the second day due to heavy rain
Pilch scored his 117 in about 6 hours, including 1 four, 11 threes and 19 two's.
Wombwell was absent after dinner in the second innings.
The wind which was very high at this time carried away the scoring papers and the scorers running after them all acorss the ground excited a general laugh.
At the conclusion of the game a somewhat strange circumstances created a considerable degree of excitement. A sheriff's officer accompanied by Mr P Hall, Mayor's officer, appeared on the down with a warrant for taking the person of Mr Mynn, or obtaining from him about 130 owing by him, to some creditor in London. The parties arrived on the ground about 1 o'clock but was arranged that Mr Mynn should not be disturbed til the conclusion of the game, but that then he should surrender himself. When the last wicket was drawn the player returned to their cottage, Mr Mynn being followed closely by the officers who kept their man in view. However Mr.Mynn got into the cottage and a number of his friends placed themselves in the doorway and effectively prevented the officers from entering. The upshot of the matter was that one of Mr Mynn's friends undertook to pay the money or to deliever Mr Mynn to the Sheriff's office in the evening.
