Notes
--> J Aylward (2) passed 2500 runs in First-Class matches when he reached 55
--> D Harris reached 50 wickets in First-Class matches when taking his 1st wicket in the Kent first innings
--> W Bullen reached 100 wickets in First-Class matches when taking his 2nd wicket in the Hampshire second innings
Kent had Fennex as a given man. At the close of day 2, T Walker, Small, sen, Taylor and Beldham were the men out. Writing in the 1830s, J Nyren recalled this as his first great match. However, his memory is demonstrably faulty on other points, so an appearance earlier in 1787 has also been attributed to hin (Smith v Winchilsea, 16 July). Appearances in previous seasons are assumed to be by R Nyren.
