Notes
--> Gentlemen of Canada full substitute: J Dewhurst for T Dale

Thomas Dale played under the alias of Thomas Jordan and captained the side. However, on leaving the field at the end of the Leicestershire innings he was arrested by Detective Crisp on a charge of having deserted from the Royal Horse Guards Blues in 1873. Dewhirst was allowed to replace him. Phillips took over the captaincy for the rest of the tour and likely took over in this match too.
