This was the third match played during the "Luton Cricket Week". W. Caffyn the once Surrey crack aged 51, appeared once more in a match. His name will be found in these pages as far back as 1848 and in the Surrey Eleven in 1849. In one account a substitute batted for Mr. W. Read in his second innings, but in another he was caught out for 5.
