Rain prevented any play on the first two days of this scheduled three day match. Late on the second day discussion took place to abandoning the game and playing a one day match on the third scheduled day. The third day was looking fine but there was still the possibility of further rain and on the morning of the third day, prior to the commencement of play it was decided to abandon the three day game and to play the One Day game scheduled for 17 February on this third day, 16 February. In the event it was able to play on 17th it was decided the match would not be a part of the Australian Cricket Board Cup, but just a friendly.
