This weather-interrupted match was drawn. Heavy rainfall delayed the start of the first day by one hour and also prevented play on the second day before 3.15 pm. For the visitors, Foster's 64 scored in 75 minutes included 6 fours. The 4 catches held by Bird in the Glamorgan innings equalled the record for the Championship jointly held by H P Justice for Oxfordshire v Wiltshire at Trowbridge in 1896, and Dr R Smith for Norfolk v Northumberland at Norwich in 1897. The feat was to be repeated later in the season by L C V Bathurst for Norfolk v Durham at Norwich and by A C M Croome for Berkshire v Oxfordshire at Reading.
For Glamorgan, R Lowe's 62 included 10 fours and Bancroft's 53 contained 4 fours. The umpires disagreed when play should start on the second day. The Glamorgan official Harman believed the pitch was fit enough for play to begin at 2.15 pm and then again at 2.45 pm. However, the Worcestershire umpire Edge disagreed and play did not start until 3.15 pm. This incident gave rise to considerable bad feeling. It was agreed subsequently that neutral umpires should be used in the return match at Worcester in July.
[Missing: Extras breakdown; in Glamorgan inns fall of 5th, 6th and 7th wickets.]
