This match counted for Norfolk in Championship - but not for Durham who did not qualify (individual records count)
This return match was drawn, Durham having won when the sides met at Norwich the week before. Needing 167 runs in their second innings to win in an hour and 20 minutes, Durham fell just 13 short with 3 wickets left. For Durham, Turnbull took 10 wickets in the match for 108 runs. Adamson top-scored with 46. For Norfolk, there was 1 six and 11 fours in Relf's 66 which was scored at a run a minute. With the dismissal of Lambert in the Durham first innings, Morley took his hundredth wicket in championship matches. Lambert was injured keeping wicket after lunch during the Norfolk first innings. Butler took his place and Fryer fielded as substitute. Lambert was able to keep wicket during the second innings, but had batted with a runner. For the second time Lambert made 3 stumpings in the match, a feat only equalled during the season by T Mayes for Monmouthshire v Wiltshire at Newport in July.
