Bedfordshire won this return match by 185 runs at 5.45 pm on the second day, after setting Hertfordshire a victory target of 325 runs in 3¾ hours. The match between the two teams in June at Bedford had been drawn. For the winners,F G Brooks scored 137 not out with 1 six, 18 fours, 2 threes and 12 twos, Pollitt 99 with 10 fours, Orr 58. In the Bedfordshire first innings, Pollitt and Wharmby added 97 runs for the ninth wicket. Oliver took 9 wickets in the match for 154 runs. The match aggregate of 835 runs was the second highest of the season.
