This card comes from the Minor Counties Research Project - research is continuing on this scorecard which can be expected to change.
Buckinghamshire won this return match by 209 runs with just 7 minutes left for play. A last wicket partnership of 54 runs between Coleman and W J Rudd nearly denied the home team of victory. The meeting between the two teams in July at St Albans had been drawn. For the winners Nash took 10 wickets in the match for 127 runs. There were 6 fours in P J de Paravicini's 90 not out, and 11 fours in Bird's 80. In the Buckinghamshire second innings Gresson and Bird put on over one hundred runs for the second wicket. For Hertfordshire, Coleman scored 65. [An alternative version of this score based on Buckinghamshire sources gives the first day close of play scores of Gresson 24 not out and Bird 14 not out.]
[Missing: Part fall of wickets; in Buckinghamshire 2nd innssize of second wicket partnership; in Hertfordshire 2nd inns boundaries in Coleman's 65; precise time completed.]
