Notes
--> H Creber achieved his best innings bowling analysis in Minor Counties Championship matches in the Wiltshire first innings (previous best was 8-52)

This card comes from the Minor Counties Research Project - research is continuing on this scorecard which can be expected to change.
Wiltshire won this low-scoring match by 54 runs at 5.40 pm on the second day. In their second innings, Glamorgan required 75 runs to win in 100 minutes. On the first day play was abandoned for the day at 5.00 pm after rain had prevented a resumption after lunch. On the second day the start was delayed by the wet state of the pitch. For the winners, Grant took 10 wickets in the match for 46 runs and Smith took 10 wickets in the match for 51 runs. For the losers, Creber and Nash bowled unchanged through both innings taking in the match 13 wickets for 82 runs and 7 for 86 respectively. Creber's 13 for 82 was statistically the second best match bowling performance of the season, and his 8 for 35 in the Wiltshire first innings the third best innings bowling performance during the season. In the Wiltshire first innings, Brain stumped four batsmen, the most in an innings during the season. It equalled the Championship record achieved on just one previous occasion by J Poole for Staffordshire against Durham at Walsall in 1902. There were 10 fours in Thackeray's 53, scored in an hour. In the Glamorgan first innings, Thackeray and Russell put on 66 runs for the seventh wicket. The Glamorgan second innings total of 20 was the lowest of the season and equalled the lowest in the Championship by Buckinghamshire against Hertfordshire at Aylesbury in 1903. The match aggregate of 318 runs was the second lowest of the season for a completed match.
