Devon won this close match by 1 wicket at shortly before 6.0 pm on the second day. It was the sixth one wicket victory since the start of the competition in 1895. Requiring in their second innings 123 runs to win in three hours, the ninth Devon wicket fell at 117, but Harrison and Scott together scored the 6 runs needed for victory, the winning runs being 3 byes. For the winners, Light took 11 wickets in the game for 111 runs. There were 11 fours in Davies's 67. In the Devon first innings, Light and Davies added 93 runs for the seventh wicket. For the losers, Gibson's 58 contained 9 fours and Riches 56 included just 1 four. In the Glamorgan second innings, Whittington did not bat until late because of a damaged hand.
