Suffolk won by an innings and 160 runs at 12.40 pm on the second day. The Cambridgeshire first innings lasted for just 65 minutes and Trudgett had the extraordinary bowling analysis of 9 wickets for 14 runs. It was statistically the best innings bowling performance of the season. He did not take a wicket in the Cambridgeshire second innings. For the winners, there were 1 five and 13 fours in Quaife's 93, 8 fours in Lake's 59, and 1 five and 5 fours in Newton's 50. In the Suffolk innings Raynor and Lake added 78 runs for the seventh wicket. For the losers, Thomas's 47 was the top-score. There were seven changes in the Cambridgeshire team compared with their previous match against Dorset at Poole at the beginning of the month.
