Norfolk won this return match by 112 runs at 5.35 pm on the second day, after Bedfordshire had been set a victory target of 242 runs in 2½ hours. Norfolk had also won the match between the two sides at Bedford in July. A shower delayed the start on the second day by half-an-hour. For the winners, there was 1 six and 6 fours in Allsopp's 69 not out. In the Norfolk second innings, Treglown and Allsopp had a partnership of 53 runs for the ninth wicket, and Allsopp and Fulcher an unbroken one of 83 runs for the tenth. For the losers, Wharmby took 7 wickets for 35 runs in the Norfolk first innings. Apthorp top-scored with 43 including 5 fours. The 26 maidens bowled by Wharmby in the match were the third highest of the season.
