Norfolk won on first innings by just one run. Due to rain only 1 hour and 45 minutes of play was possible on the second day and the match was abandoned at 4.00 pm. No batsman recorded a half-century in the match. On his debut Falconer took 12 wickets in the match for 88 runs, including figures of 6 for 40 in Hertfordshire's first innings and 6 for 48 in their second. Burton took 5 wickets for 48 runs in Norfolk's first innings. Thurgar received a cut in the last over of the first day's play and Barton kept wicket on the second day, E F Dodd fielding as substitute.
