Norfolk won this return match by an innings and 165 runs a few moments after 6.00 pm on the first day, after Suffolk had been put into bat by the Norfolk captain. The match between the two sides at Norwich at the beginning of the month had also been won by Norfolk. Suffolk were dismissed in just over an hour before lunch and their second innings was of the same length. For the winners, Falconer took 11 wickets for just 34 runs, with 6 wickets for 15 runs in the first innings, and 5 for 19 in the second. There was 1 six and 7 fours in Raikes's 58 and 10 fours in Fulcher's 54. For Suffolk, no batsman exceeded 13 runs in either of their innings. In the Norfolk innings Penfold took 6 wickets for 92 runs. Bridgnell on his debut for Suffolk was dismissed without scoring in both innings.
[Missing: Umpires; extras breakdown; in Norfolk innings fall of sixth and ninth wickets.]
