This return match was drawn with Northumberland winning on first innings. The Northumberland declaration had left Lincolnshire with 90 minutes to score 204 runs. The match between the two sides at Jesmond in June had also been drawn, but with Lincolnshire winning on first innings. The start on the second day was delayed by rain until 2.30 pm and the match was brought to a premature end with a storm at 6.10 pm. For the home side, there was 1 six and 5 fours in Hemingway's 55. For the visitors, there was 1 six and 8 fours in Wingham's 78. Skinner took 6 wickets for 50 runs in the Lincolnshire first innings.
