Surrey 2nd XI won this match by 4 wickets on the second afternoon; they had been set 159 to win in 2 hours and 10 minutes and won with only a little time to spare.
(Play had continued until 7.00pm on the first day with stumps being set to be drawn at 5.00pm on the second day.)
For the winners there was 1 five and 10 fours in Sandham’s 79 and 1 six and 9 fours in Rutty’s 72; together they added 100 for the fourth wicket in only 45 minutes.
In Surrey’s second innings Spring made a cut for an all-run 7.
Sullivan took 2 catches and made 2 stumpings in the match.
For the losers there were 1 five and 9 fours in Riches’ 109, an innings lasting 3 hours and 45 minutes.
Riches and Creber added 125 in 2 hours for Glamorgan’s last wicket in their first innings whilst Rees and Hacker put on 64 in just under 1 hour for the ninth wicket in their second attempt.
