Match notes
An oncoming storm brought an end to play before the one hundred overs for the day had been bowled. The accompanying wind gusts lifted the covers and a considerable amount of water seeped on to the wicket causing a delay in the commencement of the second day of play until one o'clock. Queensland closed immediately and quickly made inroads into the New South Wales batting before Curry and Atkinson settled in to a good partnership. JS Bickerton suffered injury and retired from the bowling crease after one ball of his ninth over, the over being completed by MC Christie.
