Brief profile of Bob Haines

'Bob' Haines was a well-travelled amateur who played in 12 first-class matches for Glamorgan in 1933 and 1934.

 

Educated at King`s Canterbury, the right-handed Haines played for the Public Schools against The Rest in 1924, before appearing for Kent 2nd XI, Devon and the Gentlemen of Essex.

 

During the Second World War, Haines acted as the match secretary for the British Empire XI, and when hostilities ceased, he continued playing in club cricket for Swansea, who he captained in 1950.
