When Ajit Agarkar entered the international cricketing arena, many started comparing him with Kapil Dev due to his ability to bowl fast and also tonk some hefty blows with the bat. A bowler with a small frame but can generate speeds upto 140 ks regularly, he always faced one issue that would have made him into a great bowler -- consistency. Four good balls in an over would be followed by a boundary ball thus spoiling the pressure built by him. If he would be consistent in one series he would be frustrating in another. A bowler with a special wicket taking ability would have gone great heights had he being a touch consistent. He collected seven consecutive Test ducks against Australia. But he could bat, as he scored half-century in 21 balls, and scored a Test century at Lord's.
