Former New Zealand skipper Stephen Fleming has rejected coaching offers from two top nations out of which one is believed to be for England.

Fleming who retired from international cricket last year, was quoted as saying by stuff.co.nz that he had turned down two coaching offers from two of the leading cricket nations of the world, one being and year ago and another in the recent months.

"I was flattered to be offered, and I spent a lot of time looking at both teams," Fleming said. "They had really good opportunities in world tournaments I stayed true to my plan of being out of the game. It came down to the fact it wasn't my time and I was trying to force the decisions. It really did interest me," he added

He also said that the coaching career is not on his cards at the moment and he might consider such offers after another 4-5 years. “As a former player, you are not automatically qualified to become a coach. I'm aware of that. Part of my development with Chennai (the IPL team he coaches eight weeks a year) is to understand my shortcomings as a coach and see the changes I need to make. If I get another couple of years, I can see if this is what I want to do and if I would be any good at it," he said.

Meanwhile, he also revealed that had been allowed to captain another series for New Zealand, he would have stayed a bit longer in the game. He also called the entire process of being dropped as the captain, as “messy and wrong” contradicting former selection convener Sir Richard Hadlee's version of those events.
