Tamil Nadu captain Dinesh Karthik was fined 75% of his match fee and banned for one Ranji Trophy match after being found guilty of breaching the BCCI Code of Conduct. The wicketkeeper-batsman was found guilty of a Level 1 and 2 offence during Tamil Nadu's Super League match against Gujarat in Ahmedabad by match referee Sanjay Patil for bringing the game into disrepute by excessive appealing and charging toward the umpire. He will thus miss Tamil Nadu's next match against Punjab in Amritsar starting November 17.

The incident took place when Gujarat batsman Jay Desai was on 68 during his team's second innings and Karthik appealed for a catch off offspinner R Ashwin, who was also issued a verbal warning for arguing with the umpire. Desai went on to score 108 as the match ended in a draw.
In Mohali, VVS Laxman received a 20% fine for for bowling five overs less during Hyderabad's match against Punjab, while the rest of his team were fined 10% of their match fees.LATEST SCORES
