Ian Bradshaw Profile

Player:IDR Bradshaw

DateLine: 20th February 2007

He has been a late achiever making his first class debut at 24, his ODI debut at 30 and Test debut at 32. But Ian Bradshaw has made up for lost time and in two years has had a few notable achievements. An incisive left arm medium pace bowler Bradshaw was the Under-19 team captain and has lead Barbados since 2000 to many regional triumphs. A strong and disciplined cricketer Bradshaw is never afraid of hard work and his nippy seam and swing bowling has yielded a rich haul of wickets especially in ODIs in which he boasts of an excellent average and economy rate and a decent strike rate. He has not met with the same kind of success in the few Tests he has played since making his debut in 2006 but his best could still lie ahead. But whatever he achieves it will be difficult to top his best effort so far – the match winning 71-run ninth wicket partnership with Courtney Browne against England at the Oval in September 2004 that clinched for the West Indies the Champions Trophy, Bradshaw’s share being 34.
