Andy Flower has been named as as Englands new full-time team director of cricket. Andy Flower was working as a Assistant coach for England and he took a temporary coaching job after their formal coach Peter Moore has been sacked in January. Ex-Zimbabwe captain Andy Flower has joined England team as assistant coach in may 2007.
 
The ECB has appointed Andy Flower has full term coach although approaches to high-profile Australians Tom Moody, John Buchanan as well as South Africans Mickey Arthur and Graeme Ford, were turned down. According to source ECB has got more than 30 applicants for the role but Andy Flower had overcome all these applicants to took the coach job. 
The current ODI and Test skipper for England is Andrew Strauss and he had good relationship with Andy Flower during Carribian series and currently some of the England players are busy with their new assignment IPL 2009. And most of the England players have welcomed the new coach appointment. Andy Flower has retired from International cricket in 2003 after world cup who has average of 51.54 in test cricket and also he played for Essex county team till 2007. The biggest challenge for Andy Flower as England coach is Ashes series which is going to start from July.LATEST SCORES
