Match notes
The Sri Lankan second wicket partnership of 123 was recorded in 69 minutes from 94 balls. When the fifth Country wicket fell at 82 a large defeat seemed to be looming. Jesberg then joined Moore to add 75 in 51 minutes from 83 balls and with the lower order also chipping in a creditable reply was posted. The Sri Lankans went into the match looking to improve their standing after having failed to impress in their earlier matches on their Australian tour. The attendance was stated to be not near what had been hoped for and the local committee lost heavily on the match. This was a fifty over match played to one day, limited over rules.
