The match should have been played in Adelaide but the people of Kadina offered more money.
As the second innings of Yorke's Peninsula was little more than a farce the All England went in a second time. The score of the second inings is noted in 'Yorke's Peninsula Advertiser and Miners' News' as being 102 all out, with WG Grace's score of 54 given in Webber's book on WG, as is WR Gilbert who made 23 and TW Wills who took 6-28.
S & B states of the Peninsula second innings 'this is the smallest score ever made against a XXII of England'.
On the scheduled third day (Mar 25), a scratch 15-a-side match was staged between composite teams led by WG Grace & J Southerton: Southerton’s XV 55 (H Jupp 16*, C Morton 16; WR Gilbert 8/26, WG Grace 6/24); Grace’s XV 13/84 (WG Grace 23, J Chittleborough 16, FH Boult 10; J Lillywhite7/30, J Southerton 2/28).
