Match was unfinished, owing to rain.
England went in first in one account, but in another Bathurst. In other accounts Bowman is spelt Bonnor. Initials generally wanting and extras all jumbled up together. As with this and other matches showing great carelessness, laziness and want of interest in recording the game, by those employed.
Source does not make clear why West bowled but did not bat. No mention is made of a substitute batting.
C.T.B. Turner, later to become so famous as a bowler, was now only 16 years of age.
