--> Orleans Club batted on after winning

Source has result as match drawn. This would only make sense if the match was intended to be a two-innings game. Source does not make clear how many wickets had fallen when Orleans Club passed their target.
This was the first match played on the new ground of the Ranelagh Club at Fulham. It was originally intended that the first match should be between eleven members of the Ranelagh Club and eleven of the Orleans Club at Twickenham. Owing however to the first meet of the Four-in-Hand Club in Hyde Park being appointed for the same day, there was a difficulty in making up the Ranelagh side and the match was therefore constituted as above.
The Ranelagh is situated close to the terminus of the Putney omnibi on the Middlesex side of Putney Bridge. The cricket ground including the club house is from 6 to 7 acres in extent and the portion devoted to matches is about an acre and was laid down by Alfred Shaw and Pearce, the ground man of Lord's. Mr. Reginald Herbert is the founder of the Club, and the ground is a private one, and before it was made into a cricket ground was, it is believed, once the property of Grisi and Mario. (Giulia Grisi was a celebrated opera singer many years before; Giuseppe Mario, Count of Cordia, her husband, also a well known opera singer was described as the "perfect stage lover").
