Glamorgan had won the previous encounter between the two teams at Cardiff in June. For the visitors, Creber took 10 wickets in the match for 110 runs, including 7 for 39 in the Monmouthshire first innings. Bancroft top-scored with 72. Silverlock scored 79 not out for Monmouthshire.
