This was the first tied match in the Championship since its inauguration in 1895. The two teams shared 1½ points. Oxfordshire were set a target of 147 runs to win in their second innings. When the last man, Wakelin, joined P Rogers 14 runs were still required for victory. P Rogers tied the scores, but Cave then bowled Wakelin. A Rogers for the home team and Cave for the visitors both took 11 wickets in the match for 71 runs.
