Staffordshire won this return match on the second day by 150 runs at 6.25 pm with five minutes to spare.
The match at Stoke earlier in July had also been won by Staffordshire.
For the winners, Barnes took 12 wickets in the match for 94 runs, including 7 for 56 in the Monmouthshire second innings.
There were 9 fours in Brown's 79, scored in over two hours, and 1 five and 3 fours in Barnes's 50.
For Monmouthshire, E S Phillips's 52 contained 6 fours.
In the Staffordshire second innings, E J Diver, substituting for Tatham, held the substitute catch for Monmouthshire.
Later in the same innings N C Phillips hurt a hand keeping wicket.
P C Phillips took over the gloves, with N C Phillips continuing as a fielder after his hand had been strapped up.
[Note: The overs and runs conceded in the Staffordshire second innings given above are based on Monmouthshire sources and are in line with the published Monmouthshire averages. It is assumed that the Stafford scorer misattributed some overs between three or four of the Monmouthshire bowlers.
For the record, the Staffordshire Scorebook gives the overs and runs conceded for Steeples as 20 and 64 and for Silverlock as 7 and 18 respectively.
In addition, Griffiths is given as bowling 6.1 overs and Stedman, Williams and Sprawson as conceding 53, 30 and 13 runs respectively.]
[Missing: In Staffordshire second innings note differences between sources, who bowled no ball, and why Tatham needed substitute fielder.]
