Dorset won this return match by an innings and 26 runs on the second day, after enforcing the follow-on. When the two teams met at Poole in June, Monmouthshire were the victors. In the Dorset innings Budge scored 68, the last three wickets added 183 runs, with Budge and Hodges adding 71 for the eighth wicket, Budge and Stacey 58 for the ninth and Budge and Udal 54 for the tenth. Zealley took 6 wickets for 35 runs in the Monmouthshire first innings. Rain delayed the start on the second day until noon.
