Norfolk won this return match by four wickets at 5.40 pm on the second day, after enforcing the follow-on. For the winners, there were 16 fours, 2 threes and 8 twos in Falcon's 110, scored in just under 2 hours and 40 minutes. Dunning's 78 included 6 fours , an innings of 3¾ hours. He batted with a damaged thumb. In the Norfolk first innings, Dunning and Falcon added 181 runs for the third wicket in under 160 minutes. For Bedfordshire, Wharmby took 10 wickets in the match for 109 runs, including 8 for 67 in the Norfolk first innings. There were 10 fours in Peel's 61. The match between the two teams at Bedford Grammar School a month before had been drawn.
