There were 9 fours in Golding's 96 and White scored 60. In the Hertfordshire second innings, Golding and White added 133 runs for the fifth wicket. For the losers, Coulson took 14 wickets in the match for 112 runs, including 7 for 33 in the Hertfordshire first innings and 7 for 79 in the second. In the Cambridgeshire first innings, Watts and Fromant put on 56 runs for the eighth wicket. This was the first use of this venue for a championship match.
