Wiltshire won by 172 runs on the second day, after Berkshire were set 331 to win in 3ΒΌ hours. For the winners, Taunton scored 154, Laverton 65, Nicholson 64 and R W Awdry 55. In the Wiltshire first innings Nicholson and Taunton added 111 runs for the fifth wicket. For the losers, Morres's 123 included 21 fours and he scored 54 in the second innings. Smith was temporarily disabled on the first day and A H Tucker fielded in his place. On the second day, Nicholson split his finger and did not bat in the Wiltshire second innings. A O Crew fielded as his substitute.
