Glamorgan's captain, NVH Riches, was unable to play due to an injury.
Surrey were dismissed for only 75 runs in their first innings, which lasted for just 68 minutes; Hacker and Maxwell both bowled unchanged, the former taking 5 wickets for 36 runs and the latter 5 for 33.
In Surrey's second innings Hacker took 7 wickets for 68 runs, giving match figures of 12 for 104.
There were 7 fours in Sweet-Escott's 87; he and Hacker added 61 runs for Glamorgan's 9th wicket in just half an hour.
For the losers Wilkinson top-scored with 47 runs in his second innings.
In Surrey's second innings Mason was hit in the face by the first delivery he received from Maxwell and forced to retire hurt; bad light ended play at 6.15pm and Mason was able to resume his innings on the second morning.
