			Hello and welcome to the live coverage of the 4th '3 Series Mobile' Ashes Test match between Australia and England from the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
			This is the fourth match of the series, with Australia already having regained the Ashes, leading 3-0, courtsey of a 277-run mauling at Brisbane, the incredible turn-around at Adelaide and the high-scoring success at Perth, where Adam Gilchrist smashed the second fastest century of all time off only 57 balls. So England have just pride to play for while the Aussies sense a 5-0 thrashing in Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath's final two games of their international Test careers.
			Warne will quit all cricket after the Sydney Test next week - save for the last two years of his Hampshire contract - while McGrath will leave the Test arena at the same time but will continue to play one-day internationals until the World Cup.
			The MCG are celebrating their 100th Test match to be played on the ground, although many statisticians, particularly those outside of Australia, would argue that this is only match 99 after the game in 1971, which was cancelled after three days due to rain, rescheduled and replaced by the first ever one-day international, was removed from the records by the ICC. But the ACB, at the time, decreed that it should count - hence the difference of records!
			Another slight statisticial anomoly might strike here too as some stattos continue to refuse to include the Super Test match in 2005 between Australia and the World XI so Shane Warne might need one wicket for 700 but some feel he is still seven short. You can be sure that the celebrations will start for the legendary leg-spinner when he takes just one wicket - and on his home ground too.
			England's beleaguered troops will be aiming for some kind of pride after the Ashes were lost after just 15 months of ownership and may recall wicket-keeper Chris Read for the final two games, replacing Geraint Jones. The make-up of the side is still very much unknown but Read looks a certainty to play.
			The home side, on the other hand, will surely keep the same side that won at Perth, maining Mitchell Johnson continues to play the Chris Tremlett role of 2005 by always being in the squad but never actually getting a game.
			There has been plenty of talk about the state of the pitch, after some indifferent surfaces during the Pura Cup games thus far but it might not be the pitch which is the talking point - it might be the weather after one of the coldest Melbourne Christmas Day's ever known - temperatures dropping to only 10 degrees in some places, coupled with heavy rain, hail storms and strong winds. It seems the weather went out in sympathy for the English people who have swarmed into the Victorian capital for the Boxing Day Test, which could see a world-record crowd of 100,000 in the ground.
			This will be the 315th time these sides have met, with Australia coming out on top in 129, England 97 and there have been 88 draws. The record at Melbourne is certainly interesting, with Australia winning 26, England 19 and seven draws in the 52 games to date, although Australia have won the last seven Tests played on the ground against all sides - their last defeat coming in 1998 when England scrapped home by 12 runs.
			This is just the 99th Test match to be played at the MCG, although if you count the 1971 abandoned game, it's 100! Australia have won 50, the opposition 33 and 15 have been draws.
			The first ever Test match between the sides was the first ever Test match played - at Melbourne in 1877, where Australia succeeded by 45 runs. The 'G' also held the first ever one-day international, courtesy of the rained off Test of 1971.
			The highest individual score for Australia v England is 334 by Donald Bradman at Leeds in 1930, while England's equivalent is the one-time world record 364 by Len Hutton at The Oval in 1938.
			The best bowling performance for Australia in these games is 9-121 by Arthur Mailey in Melbourne in 1920-21 season while the great Jim Laker's outstanding 10-53 is still the best by an Englishman.
			Pakistani Aleem Dar and Rudi Koertzen of South Africa continue as the on-field umpires while Jeff Crowe is replaced by head referee Ranjan Madugalle of Sri Lanka for the remainder of the series.
