RENNY-TAILYOUR, Henry Waugh.
Amateur.
Born at Missouri, North West Provinces, India, 9th October 1849.
Died at Newmanswalls, Montrose, Scotland, 15th June 1920.
He was educated at Cheltenham College, where he was a member of the cricket eleven in 1867. His career in the Army limited the number of first-class matches in which he could play and he only managed a total of 28, between 1873 and 1883, of which 19 were for Kent. Most of his cricket was played for the Royal Engineers and I Zingari. When in Scotland he played for Aberdeenshire. He played soccer in three Cup Finals for the Royal Engineers, being on the winning side in 1875. He played for Scotland against England 1872/3 and in 1872 he also played rugby for Scotland. He retired from the Army as a Colonel.
At the time of the 1881 Census he is lodging at 38 The Common, Woolwich, Kent, with John Driscoll, aged 51, born Ireland, a tailor, and his wife Jane aged 60, born Suffolk. He is married, aged 31, born in India, a lieutenant on the active list. Also lodging there are George Evatt, married, aged 31, born in Ireland, a M.D. Surgeon Major on the active list, and John G. Randall, unmarried, aged 35, born Suffolk. There are two domestic servants.
