Player:ADS Fletcher

DateLine: 13th May 2009

Fletcher, a 22-year-old, is a right-handed batsman with a solid technique. With not much first-class exposure, Andre Fletcher was thrown into the deep end of international cricket because he showed signs of a big player in the few domestic matches he had played till then. He is one of the finds of the Stanford T20 series and was one of the few who shared solidarity with the Texan millionaire after the magnate’s financial empire collapsed leading a lot of West Indian players losing money. Fletcher’s rise from obscurity could well be tracked from the days of him being noticed playing some swashbuckling knocks for his native Grenada in the first Stanford's regional 20/20 tournament in 2006. The tall, strapping right-hander has played four ODI's and two T20's till date. He is one batsman who uses technique even in the shortest form of cricket and still can hit them long. Fletcher is also a wicketkeeper and with all this talent he would surely come in handy for the Windies side in the T20 World Championship.
