New Zealand hard-hitting opener Jesse Ryder has been ruled out the two-match Twenty20 Pearls Cup series against Sri Lanka. Ryder is to return home after suffering an elbow injury and although he will not be replaced in their squade.

The series was originally intended to get underway on Thursday 20th May with a floodlit match at the Broward Stadium in Florida but that match has been cancelled after the International Cricket Council (ICC) ruled that the floodlights at the venue were not of sufficient quality.
