Reacting on Former Captain Muhammad Yousuf’s intentions to come out of retirement, former Chief selector Abdul Qadir resentfully criticised the former captain and urged the PCB not to pay heed to Yousuf’s call. "When Yousuf decided to quit, I spoke with him however he said he took the decision after thorough deliberation, but what he (Yousuf) is doing now? I don’t think PCB should consider him at all and if Yousuf goes to England then I will be the first person to criticise him", said Abdul Qadir while talking to this correspondent for a News One TV programme (Sports One)

Abdul Qadir minced no word in terming it a blackmailing tactic. "Players these days have set a wrong precedent for the next generation and it seems that the announcement of resignation has become a blackmailing tool", said Abdul Qadir who served as the Chief selector for about 8 eight months however stepped down after difference with the PCB chairman.
