Enfield have agreed terms with West Indian Lendl Simmons.
 
The 25 year-old has played three Tests for his country all against England in 2009. Since making his First-class debut in 2002 at the age of seventeen, Simmons has scored 3586 runs at 33.7 with eight centuries the best of which was a mammoth 282 for West Indies A against England at St Kitts in 2009. 
A right handed opening batsmen who bowls right arm medium pace and can also keep wicket, Simmons will be no stranger to the Lancashire League having played five matches for Todmorden at the end of the 2006 season. During his short stint at Centre Vale, the West Indian scored 196 runs at 39.2 with two half centuries, signing off with a match winning 7-69 at Colne. 
Simmons was one of West Indies most impressive performers in the 2009 Twenty20 World Cup, scoring 150 runs at 30.0 and taking 6 wickets. 
Simmons, who is the nephew of Phil Simmons, will be Enfield's eleventh West Indian professional following in the footsteps of Clyde Walcott, Nyron Asgarali, Conrad Hunte, Charlie Stayers, Keith Barker, Richard Austin, Sylvester Clarke, Linden Joseph, Franklyn Rose and Otis Gibson.LATEST SCORES
