Todmorden have signed the versatile South African Morne van Wyke as their new professional.
 
The 26 year-old is captain of his state side Eagles and he is a right handed batsman who also keeps wicket but can bowl left arm spin. 
Todmorden skipper Stuart Priestley said: "Morne bats at number five for Eagles and keeps wicket, but he is a first rate left arm spinner, who when last in England as a professional in one of the Southern Premier Leagues, took 85 wickets and scored 1400 runs. He is also a Level 3 coach." 
Van Wyke has scored 3409 runs at 35.9 from 63 First-class matches with seven centuries under his belt. He has played 1 One Day International for South Africa against England in the Nat West Bank Series Final at Lords in 2003 when he scored 17 before being bowled by James Anderson. 
Todmorden are the seventh club to confirm their professional for 2006.
